We are back with yet another unique photo workshop focusing on exploring the rural and pristine countryside of the Greater Kutch region of Gujarat from a travel and nature photographer's perspective.

Thanks to it's remote locations, unique hillscapes, expansive salt flats and low light pollution levels - Greater Kutch countryside  does serve as an ideal playground to hone

one's landscape and astro landscape photography skills.

About Kutch

Vast salt flats glowing under golden sunsets, rugged hills and ancient temples whispering history. Flamingos wading through surreal white horizons, Kutch is where landscapes turn into art—capture its magic!

Itinerary Highlights

  • Day 1  Meet and Greet at Bhuj accommodation. Tour briefing and expectation setting. Rest and catch ups. Late afternoon drive to first shoot location spanning the evening and night (dinner on the go).

  • Day 2  Sunrise shoot in Bhuj outskirts. Later afternoon drive to Nakhatrana area exploring and shooting rugged terrain, hillscapes, cracklands spanning evening to night (dinner on the go).

  • Day 3  After breakfast, head to Dholavira while shooting on the go. Evening and night shoot in Dholavira region.

  • Day 4  Early morning shoot in Dholavira area. Breakfast and drive back to Bhuj (while shooting on the road). Tour closure later in the day.

INCLUSIONS:

  • On location photography mentoring including planning, creative vision and shooting

  • On location learning of beginner to advanced Tips/Techniques about landscape image making

  • Image reviews and feedback/inputs during shoots and post shoot catch up sessions 

  • Complete post processing workflow sessions, during non-shoot hours

  • A combined online post processing session for participants on images made during trip, after the tour

  • Experiencing sample gears/kits by Nisi & Vanguard India, for shooting long exposures (on a shared basis)

  • Educational presentations/content

  • Travel in comfortable vehicles 

  • Stays at comfortable Budget properties, on twin sharing basis.

  • 3 meals on all tour days (breakfast, lunch and dinner)

  • And, last but not the least - a great time shooting, learning and making new friends.

EXCLUSIONS:

  • Travel Costs to and from Bhuj, to your respective bases 

  • Expenses of personal nature including tips to locals, shopping etc.

  • Any cost arising out of emergencies (medical/otherwise) for any participant

  • Any entry/camera/other fees, wherever applicable

Photography (and related) Gear Expected from Participants:

  • 1 Camera body

  • 1 Mid range zoom lens (24-70-105 range)

  • 1 Wide angle lens (16 mm or wider, desirable)

  • 1 Sturdy Tripod

  • 1 Camera Bag

  • Camera accessories like memory cards, spare batteries, chargers, microfiber cloths, small towels etc.

  • Long Exposure Filter Kits (absolutely optional, we can help provide surely)

  • Night gear like headlamps (especially with red light feature), flashlights (desirable)

  • Though you can get your comfortable hiking shoes, we alternatively suggest a pair of sturdy clogs/crocs (practical foot wears on at times water logged/wet locations).

  • Rest, of course, is your usual travel checklist !

  • Do try and pack lighter than usual, in case you want to get some local souvenirs back home.

Expectations Setting for Participants:

  • Tour is Ex-Bhuj i.e., it starts, ends and covers for expenses in Bhuj and other shoot locations from there on.

  • Travel in comfortable temp traveller vehicle.

  • Female participants are most welcome. Single occupancy will be provided as needed.

  • Non photography participants are welcome too, but at the same cost as photography participants. Also, they should be willing to accept the pace of the tour as photography trips tend to be slower than usual leisure trips.

  • The core theme for this excursion would be shooting and learning nature landscapes and astro-landscapes but we’ll try our best to enable participants to shoot other aspects of Travel photography as well like but not limited to people portraits and food images etc.

  • Bandwidth contingent, we’ll try to arrange quick street walks of one hour or so for all the participants, to enable them shoot things and scenes non-landscapes as well

  • Astro/Night time landscape shoots shall be conducted as per weather dynamics at locations

  • Rising really early in mornings for pre-dawn/sunrise shoots. 

  • Shoots extending into or at times, done during evening twilights and/or night hours for astro-landscape photography (Will be a bit weather contingent, expectedly)

  • A slight bit of hiking will be involved to reach shoot vantage points/locations but nothing that stretches beyond moderate and doable :)

  • Respect for the place and people, at all times

  • Consideration and camaraderie with fellow participants during shoots and tour in general

  • We'll try our best to enable participants do soak in the local culture be it in terms of people interactions or trying out local cuisine or even a general sensitization about the places that we'll visit

  • A Whatsapp group shall be formed before the tour start, to facilitate communications and logistics

Terms & Conditions:

  • 50% of the tour cost to be paid in advance for booking confirmation. Remaining 50% to be paid 15 Days before the tour.

  • Cancellation fee : 25% of the tour cost uptil 15 days prior, 100% of advance after that.

  • In case due to any unforeseen circumstance, a participant wishes to leave in between the trip, no refund shall be provided.

  • In case of mid tour cancellation due to any unforeseen event/natural calamity or any situation beyond our control, no pro-rated refund shall be provided.

  • There will be no refund for No Shows
