
So we are back with another tour to Meghalaya, this time at the unexplored heaven known as Jaintia Hills.
The Jaintia Jamboree Landscape Photography Tour hosted by VisCapades is going to be an experience to behold!
You'll be able to experience and photograph the unexplored landscapes, gorgeous waterfalls and brilliant night skies of Jaintia Hills and get some guidance from award-winning photographers.
You'll stay at a local lodge/homestays/accomodations managed by locals, eat delicious food, and take in the sights during your stay.
The tour is going to be a great opportunity to get out of the city and explore some of Meghalaya's natural wonders.

Day 1 Meet and Greet at Guwahati pickup point, Head to Amlarem (West Jaintia). Lunch on the way. Evening twilight shoot at Amlarem area, Catch Ups.

Day 2 Sunrise shoot at Krangsuri Falls, Breakfast, Later Exploring Amlarem area including Thlumuwi Falls, Phea Phea falls, Twin Falls and a couple offbeat Locations. Astro shoot session, weather contingent.

Day 3 After Breakfast, Head to Kudengrim area and shoot the mighty Kudengrim Falls and the Living Root Bridge (day long plan). Astro shoot session, weather contingent.

Day 4 Head to East Jaintia hills. Shoot Tangnop Falls. Astro shoot session, weather contingent.

Day 5 Morning shoot. Later head to Ialong Park (Jowai) for a quick shoot and start back to Guwahati. Lunch on the way. Saying our goodbyes at the Drop point.

Though you can get your comfortable hiking shoes, we alternatively suggest a pair of sturdy clogs/crocs (practical foot wears on water logged/wet locations) and a few cotton socks (wet socks work great on slippery terrains !)

This will be a Budget trip. We’ll ensure that stays are at comfortable Home stays or Budget properties, on a twin sharing basis.

Travel will be in comfortable Tempo Traveller vehicle

Pickup and drops will be at well connected common points in Guwahati. Sure, we can help find airport transfers.

Female participants are most welcome. Single occupancy will be provided if needed, but that shall incur some extra cost. Though we’ll always try and accommodate more female participants so that rooms can be shared on double occupancy basis.

Non photography participants are most welcome too, but at the same cost as photography participants.

Also, they should be willing to accept the pace of the tour as photography trips tend to be slower than usual leisure trips.

The core theme for this excursion would be shooting and learning nature landscapes and astro-landscapes but we’ll try our best to enable participants to shoot other aspects of Travel photography as well like but not limited to people portraits and food images etc.

Bandwidth contingent, we’ll try to arrange quick street walks of 30 minutes or so for all the participants, to enable them shoot things and scenes non-landscapes as well

Astro/Night time landscape shoots shall be conducted as per weather dynamics at locations

Rising really early in mornings for pre-dawn/sunrise shoots. Northeast India after all :)

Shoots extending into or at times, done during evening twilights and/or night hours for astro-landscape photography (Will be a bit weather contingent, expectedly)

A slight bit of hiking will be involved to reach shoot vantage points/locations but nothing that stretches beyond moderate and doable :)

Meghalaya being the land of rains, showers at times are expected and normal. We'll try to accommodate the day plans accordingly.

Adherence to general Covid protocols at all times

We'll try our best to enable participants do soak in the local culture be it in terms of people interactions or trying out local cuisine or even a general sensitization about the places that we'll visit

A whatsapp group shall be formed before the tour start, to facilitate communications and logistics

50% of the tour cost (i.e, Rs 15,000) to be paid in advance for booking confirmation. Remaining 50% (i.e, Rs 15,000) to be paid 10 Days before the tour.

Cancellation fee : 25% of the tour cost uptill 10 days prior, 100% of advance after that.

In case due to any unforeseen circumstance, a participant wishes to leave in between the trip, no refund shall be provided.

Tour plans are contingent to Covid-19 situation. If the tour cancellations occur due to the same, then full refund shall be provided.

In case of mid tour cancellation due to any unforeseen event/natural calamity or any situation beyond our control, no pro-rated refund shall be provided.
